Odysseus meets this famous blind prophet named Teiresias. Odysseus meets many of the dead, including one of his crewmen. In the crowd of dead people, Odysseus spots his mother, the dead can only talk to him by speaking the truth. Teiresias tells Odysseus that he has angered Poseiden for blinding his son (the Cyclops), and will give him a hard time going home. Teiresias also tells him that they can get home safely if him and his crewmen have self-control, but that they should not harm the cattle of Helios, the Sun God. Odysseus might make it home, but there will be some problems once he reaches home.
