One of Odysseus' adventures had to do with the encounter of a Cyclops named Polyphemus, who was Poseiden's son. Once Polyphemus saw the men, he started to eat them. It was Odysseus' curiosity that got the best of him and got him and his men trapped in the cyclops cave. Odysseus now has to use his intelligence which is what he is known for to get his men and himself out of there. Odysseus gave Polyphemus wine and once he got drunk and asleep, the men got a sharp stick and stabbed his eye. Odysseus had the idea to tie his men around the sheep so it would be easy for them to escape, and that is how they got away. |
