A Summary:
The Odyssey was written down sometime between 800 and 600 BCE, it was composed by Homer. The story talks about a hero named Odysseus, who takes ten years to reach his home. It is the sequel to Homer's previous poem the Iliad, that talks about the ten year Trojan War. Odysseus' journey home came with a lot of difficulties and monsters. For example, the Lotus Eaters, the Cyclops, the beautiful-voiced Sirens, wonderful Calypso, the witch Circe. At some point, it is only Odysseus that survives this journey, and has to take on the people who have invaded his house, and reunites with his faithful wife.
